Monday Adventures

This post is about our day yesterday and a bunch of otherwise disconnected little events.  Bear with me.

First, the kids didn't have school yesterday.  It was a local public schools "teacher furlough day," which meant the public schools were closed, and our preschool follows the public school calendar.  So they were home and we had a four-day weekend.  CAM had Kindermusik yesterday, but I won't lie:  we were still in our pj's at 11am.

After Kindermusik, we puttered around the house and I got a text message from Chick-fil-A.  I love text messages from Chick-fil-A.  It's brilliant marketing -- last night was family night from 5-8.  If you purchased a combo meal, you got a free kid's meal.  These kinds of deals work so well for our little family of four, AND to boot they were offering St. Patrick's Day cookie decorating!  So we went from no real dinner plans to CFA for dinner -- and got there right at 5.

Here are the cookies.  Guess which one was CAM's.

Here she is, showing off her green teeth.

When we got home from Chick-fil-A, I had some work to do at my desk (story of my life) and I came out in the living room to this:

It's a tent!  It used almost all the cushions and pillows in the living room, but it was pretty cool.

Even Bea had a place to sit and play in the tent:

The kids were in bed by 8 last night, Mick and I got to watch The Voice, and it was a really nice, lazy day that we managed to fill with some good memories (we hope).
