She's Baaaaack!

Well?  Have you missed me?!

We have had a busy few weeks here in our householdS*, and I had to step away for a while -- by necessity, also by paranoia (I wanted to tell you alllll about our adventures, but don't really like to blog when we're out of town, and truth was I didn't have much else going on to rattle on about other than our trip, so that was somewhat limiting!) and by, well, default -- Comcast, you see, has been awful over here lately.  We've had our internet out more than on, and to call it unreliable is like saying the Pope's probably not Jewish.  Um, yeah.  The past few weeks, if I've wanted to log on (or use my phone -- we live in a cell reception abyss and run our cells through our wireless, and don't have a home phone), it's been pretty much guaranteed that I would either not have a connection, or would lose it.  Which made me lose it more than once, I can tell you that!

So.  Anyway.  We're back.  And I have oodles to tell you!  Oodles!

But right now?  Right now I've got to go put on some rice.  Yes, in the middle of this crazy heat we're having red beans and rice for dinner -- using chilis from our garden, to boot, which is actually quite exciting to me!  The red beans have been a-cookin' for a while now, and the smell is amazing.  So amazing that if I don't stop typing and start the rice soon, I just may gnaw off my arm.

Which would, of course, make it hard to update this blog.

More soon!

Yes, plural.  We're in that terrible "limbo-living" phase where we don't quite live there yet, but a good chunk of our stuff is packed up here ... and theoretically, we're packing more every day, getting ready to be there full time.  I say "theoretically," because I haven't packed a lick since we got back.  I've been dragging my feet, I know, and I need to get on the stick.  Tomorrow.

  1. One of my favorite phone calls to date was when I got to call and cancel Comcast.

    1. Melissa, thank you for taking the time to comment. We've had a crazy week, but I'm finally sitting down today to email Comcast. I really appreciate your help. What a pleasant surprise!
